On October 16, 2026, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba, Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, led a high-level government delegation to the Bagamoyo Special Economic Zone to inspect the construction progress of the Hongwang Tanzania Special Economic Zone (HWTZ SEZ) Industrial Park. The delegation was warmly received by Su Qi, Managing Director of HWTZ SEZ, and other representatives of the industrial park.

During the visit, Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba received detailed briefings on the park's overall development plan, key industrial sectors, and the progress of ongoing construction projects. He paid particular attention to the implementation and development of the Rafiki vehicle assembly project and expressed his appreciation for the progress achieved to date.

The Prime Minister described the project as a significant milestone in Tanzania's industrialization process, reflecting President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan's strategic vision of building a production-based economy. He encouraged the project team to accelerate construction while maintaining quality standards and to bring the production lines into operation as soon as possible, creating more local employment opportunities and contributing to Tanzania's industrial development.

Since its launch, the Rafiki vehicle assembly project has received strong support from relevant Tanzanian government departments. Construction work is progressing steadily according to schedule, and the project is expected to commence commercial production by the end of 2026.
